So, what's it all about?.........

The 'out of studio' Event DJ for Timefm106.8

So when you've seen TimeFM on the road - that was me!

The Phantom Dee-Jay has over 30 years experience in the entertainment business as a Singer, Musician, Band Manager, MC, Presenter, Actor and....  DJ.
To say that this experience is wide-ranged would be an massive understatement: Radio Station Roadshows, Student, Fresher and Backpacker events through to Major Corporate functions for clients such as:

BT - British Airways - The Environment Agency - Debenhams - Whitehouse - Debenhams Desire - The Glades, Bromley - Bluewater - Dorothy Perkins - PT Cruiser Club of Great Britain - Burton - The Broadway Centre, Bexleyheath - TimeFM - ASDA - Millwall Football Club and Charlton Athletic's Player of the Year Awards, with Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries and regular Pub/Venue gigs and special Theme Nights in between - all in all 1,000s of live performances!

Here's the sort of DJ nights the Phantom Dee-Jay can provide for you – which consist of: Disco & Party Anthems, Indie, Alternative & Retro, Motown, Soul, Northern Soul, Atlantic Soul, Original R&B, 50s, 60's, 70s & 80s Disco & Funk classics, 70s, 80s & 90s School Disco and the best of today's Commercial and Club dance.
This is all played through a high-quality dB Technologies Active Sound System.
Sound system sizes range from the standard 2.4Kw Active System up to 3.4Kw for larger events, all with extensive lighting - I can cater (and have) for small private parties up to events of 500 people or more.

Sound quality is superior CD - only CDs capture the full quality of the original digital recording.  MP3s can, and do, sound harsh when played through anything other than small personal headphones and, along with Laptops, are not to be recommended for large, quality sound systems.
All this quality, AND because I carry hundreds of CDs, means that I can provide great Theme Nights such as:

Souled Out! - Playing the best Soul, Funk and Pop-Disco party sounds. Recreating the fun, feel and atmosphere of the 70’s Soul Explosion with the music of the Clubs:  Motown, Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire, Fatback Band, Barry White, Bee Gees, Chic, Rose Royce, Luther Vandross etc  The birth of Disco!  Schools Out! - Playing the all the favourite party anthems from the classic 80s late 70s and early 90s:  ABC, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Take That, Human League, Chesney Hawkes, Madness, Belinda Carlisle etc   Bringing back the memories of behind the bikesheds.  Greased Out! - 50’s & early 60’s themed night - All the hits from the Film and early Soul and Rock n' Roll originals from the period: Elvis, Sam & Dave, Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, Frankie Valli etc   Oh Sandy!  Remix and Break Out! - Playing the hottest Funky House, Remixes and Breaks from the best London & European Clubs:  Loose Cannons, Milo, Adam Freeland, LCD Soundsystem, Les Rythymes Digitales, Plump DJs, Breakfastaz, Evil 9, Shapeshifters, etc  If this don't move your body, you're dead!  Indie-Alternative Rock Out! - Current Xfm,  Virgin, MTV playlist:  Kooks, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Maximo Park, Kaiser Chiefs, Pulp, Blur, Oasis etc All your favourite hits from 90s Britpop & Indie through to today's emerging and breaking artists.  or just . . . Chill Out! - Background atmospheric: Playing a soulful mix of Leftfield Groove - Kid Loco, Groove Armada, Lemonjelly, Royksopp, Lamb, Massive Attack, tasteful Re-mix and Late Night Chill.  Smoothe!

Cutting to the chase.
If you don't want a 'themed' night and the majority don't, a general mix of music takes place that reflects the occasion, the mix and make up of the guests and the atmosphere you wish to create whilst also catering for requests.
I run  a 'Dance Decades' theme night every 1st Saturday at another venue; alternating between 70s, 80s and 90s theme each month, and  DJ special 'Themed' Party Nights every month at another venue mixing Soul/Rn'B/School Disco and Commercial Dance.

On top of that, I put on specialist nights like 60's, 70s Disco, Latino, Cowboys & Indians, Doctors & Nurses and  50s/60s ‘Grease’ themed nights too.  I do still have time for private bookings though!

Prices (ahhh, thought he'd get round to it eventually).

Price is always an important factor in choosing anything, but not more important than Value.  Ever bought something cheap you later wished you hadn't?  Yeah we all have.  But the 'buy cheap, buy twice' motto, whilst very true, doesn't apply to an event, if you buy cheap and you're disappointed, you don't get a second chance.  My prices are extremely reasonable for the very high quality service you will receive.

In practice, each client’s disco is individual, whether its the Date, Location, Clientele attending, the nature of the Occasion or the Times and Duration, and that is why I prefer to give an individual quote taking into account all of the personal aspects of a client's event, rather than publish 'standard' charges.

Please don’t think this means I'm expensive, far from it – I offer value-for-money for a personal, professional service with quality equipment, at a very competitive price.

Most quotes for a local 4-hour function, party or event start from a very reasonable £225, but if you want me at the venue for longer, or later, or if there is significant travel involved, that will cost a little more.

A typical disco (finishing shortly after midnight) would be around £240.

For larger events requiring the provision of 2 sound-systems my charges start from £350.

Wedding reception parties also start from £350 for a typical 'evening-only' reception.

I cover Greater London, North-West Kent and the Surrounding areas, and can travel further, and do,  upon request

Please note, that it is standard practice for everyone to increase charges for functions that finish after midnight, or at Christmas and New Year, or where there's significant travel involved.  Obviously, the longer you want me to be there, the more it will be!  To get your personal quote, please click here for the CONTACT page and call or email me with the details of your event, the location, the date and the times.

Not just dancing: If you are planning an event such as a Wedding, Conference, Evening meal etc where you are gathering to meet/chat and then sitting down to dinner and you want to create a subtle ambience, I can provide a selection of classy, relaxing background music to suit all tastes and moods.

For an extra special touch at weddings, I can recommend Harmonie - The Flute and Harp Duo - The flute and harp are a beautiful combination both musically and visually.  Design your wedding ceremony to be the perfect reflection of your unique style and create memories that last a lifetime! The elegant music of Harmonie will set the tone, filling the air with joy and happiness on your special day.  Harmonie have a selection of beautiful pieces of classical or contemporary music for your Wedding Ceremony, Drinks Reception or Wedding Breakfast.  Your guests can listen and enjoy our music before you make your all important entrance!  Contact Harmonie here, or through the links on the HOME page.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

The Phantom Dee-Jay has also been seen masquerading as Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill in 'Stargate SG-1'

Ian, (who is he kidding by using the name of Richard Dean Anderson?) plays the part of Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill is commanding officer of team SG-1 (OK, so far).  When he joined the Air Force at 18 years of age, O'Neill proved himself to be an exceptional and gifted (gets better) airman and was later assigned to a special forces unit.   He resigned from service when his son Charlie died by accidentally shooting himself with O'Neill's gun (oh, crap!).  O'Neill never recovered from the loss, which drove his wife to eventually leave him (I don't want to play anymore).  O'Neill was recalled by his former commanding officer to go through the Stargate precisely because of his willingness to die (I definitely don't want to play anymore).  Instead, the mission gave him a new desire to live (oh, great!)
